Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce spent part of last summer away from football, working as host of the Amazon Prime game show, “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?”

Apparently, Kelce got to know the celebrities pretty well. One of those stars was in Kansas City last month and raved about Kelce’s generosity.

Ron Funches talked about Kelce during his stand-up show at the Comedy Club of Kansas City. Funches shared a video of that on his Instagram account.

“We started to become friendly,” Funches said of Kelce. “And then he knew I was coming out to do shows for Thanksgiving week and he hit me up on Instagram and he was just like, ‘Hey man, are you coming to my city? Let me know if you need anything.’”

The Chiefs played the Raiders in the “Black Friday” game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, and Kelce invited Funches to watch.

“I can tell you, he’s a ... good guy,” Funches said. “He’s a good dude and not only did he get us tickets, an hour and a half before the game, I get another little ding on my phone. He was just like, ‘Hey man, I’m getting ready to go into ‘Game Mode.’ I’m gonna turn my phone off but before I do, I just want to make sure you got in OK.’

“Who the (heck) are you? You Prince Charming (guy). He is amazing, he is a golden retriever of a human being. It’s probably why he’s so good at football. He just sees the ball and (says), ‘I gotta go get it.’”

Fans loved hearing that and then they got a good laugh when Funches indirectly mentioned Kelce’s girlfriend, superstar singer Taylor Swift.

“I think he’s too good for her,” Funches quipped.

You can watch the video here, but be warned that there is cursing.
