Chiefs’ Travis Kelce shares thoughts about AFC Championship Game matchup against Bills
Former Eagles center Jason Kelce is pretty darn excited to watch Sunday’s AFC Championship Game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
It’ll be the Chiefs against the Bills for a spot in Super Bowl LIX, and Kelce listed some big names from both teams during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast.
“Sean McDermott, freaking (Steve) Spagnuolo, Andy Reid, Joe Brady, gosh, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes,” he said. “This is gonna be a fun game. Can’t wait.”
Here are some other names to mention on the Bills: receiver Keon Coleman, linebacker Matt Milano, tight end Dalton Kincaid, offensive tackle Spencer Brown and defensive end Dawuane Smoot. They all missed Buffalo’s 30-21 win over the Chiefs in November but are expected to play Sunday.
The Chiefs on Sunday will have these players who missed that loss to the Bills: cornerback Jaylen Watson, running back Isiah Pacheco, receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, defensive lineman Charles Omenihu and kicker Harrison Butker.
On the podcast, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce talked about Sunday’s game against the Bills.
“We do know this, we got a few extra weapons on offense,” he said. “I think we’re a little bit healthier on the defensive side. It doesn’t mean that we’ll have the upper hand just because of that. It’s obviously these two great-coached teams, two superstars at quarterback and and playmakers all over the board.
“The biggest thing for me is just going out there and playing my ... tail off for these guys next to me, man. We’re excited for that challenge to go up against these Bills. We know they match up very, very good with us. It’s a very familiar match up. We’ve seen these guys a lot. We’ve seen them a lot in the playoffs and in the regular season. And that being said, it’s going to be a dog fight.”
