Following playoff win, Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes sweetly wished his mom a happy birthday
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes got someone to watch his three kids following Saturday’s playoff win over the Houston Texans.
It’s Mahomes’ mother, Randi.
Following the birth of Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ daughter, Golden Raye, last Sunday, Randi Mahomes delighted fans with a post on Instagram following the blessed event.
She posed at the corner of Sterling and Golden streets in Tyler, Texas. And she was holding a bag with the word Bronze on it. Those are the names of her three grandchildren, the kids of Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes was asked Saturday about that post.
“First off, it’s her birthday, so happy birthday mom,” Mahomes said following the Chiefs’ 23-14 win over the Texans.
“She’s Grandi, is what she calls herself. And our kids love her, and she’s been a huge instrumental part of my entire life, taking me to those baseball games. And she takes a picture with that sign. Golden Road is where I played baseball growing up. So those are the things that you’ll forever remember, those moments you have with your parents. And she’s here today. I’m sure she’ll be ready to take care of these grandkids.”
Two of those kids were at the postgame news conference: 2-year-old son, Bronze and 3-year-old daughter Sterling.
They were waiting for their dad after he was done answering questions. This was a sweet moment.
