The best gifts often are the ones you receive from someone who is giving you something they love.

So when Chiefs coach Andy Reid gives someone a cheeseburger, that’s a special gesture. That’s because Reid simply loves cheeseburgers.

Reid ended his final news conference of the week on Thursday by recognizing ESPN’s Adam Teicher, who is retiring after the Chiefs season ends.

Teicher, who got his start covering the team at the Kansas City Star before moving to ESPN, was also given a game ball by Reid. Here is a look at that ball, via Nick Jacobs of KSHB-TV.

“You’re retiring on me, man, doggone, but listen 32 years and this is what you get right here,” Reid said as he showed the game ball. “That’s not all, but for right now, congratulations though, enjoy every minute. We also have a cheeseburger bar for all of you but in tribute to Adam. So, I’m literally going to treat you to a cheeseburger. You’ve done a great job.”

Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest shared video of Reid honoring Teicher.
