Kansas City fans love the Chiefs and make sure to support the players whenever possible.

The latest proof of that came Wednesday as tight end Travis Kelce won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Charity Challenge, and Nationwide will award a $35,000 donation to his 87 & Running foundation. Votes were tabulated by fans who shared a specific hashtag on social media for the 32 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominees.

KC fans continue to get out the vote. Nationwide said Kelce also won the Charity Challenge in 2021. Other Chiefs to win that award were Patrick Mahomes (2023), Tyrann Mathieu (2022) and Eric Berry (2016).

To show his gratitude, Kelce recorded a special video for Chiefs fans and mentioned the playoffs returning to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs will play in an AFC Divisional postseason game on Jan. 18 or Jan. 19.

“Chiefs Kingdom! What’s going on, everybody? Just wanted to give a big shout out to the Kingdom on social media,” Kelce said in a video shared by the Chiefs. “I heard that we won the Walter Payton Charity Challenge on social media. And, you know, I always, got faith in the Kingdom to show up and show out and support theirs. Just another reason why I love you guys.

“Let’s go get it in the playoffs, though, man. I’ll see you guys up at Arrowhead!”
