ESPN recently polled 111 NFL players and wanted to know which stadium is the toughest place to play a game.

The vote wasn’t particularly close.

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium won with 57 points, followed by the Seahawks’ Lumen Field (41 1/2) and the Vikings’ U.S. Bank Stadium (28 1/2).

“I just think the aura, and the fans are nuts,” Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day told ESPN. “They’re so loud, you can’t even hear yourself think at times.

“And obviously Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are a great duo. They feed off that energy, and their defense feeds off it, too, Chris Jones and them. The atmosphere is crazy.”

Tight end Noah Fant, who plays for the Seahawks, also talked about the enthusiasm showed by Chiefs fans.

Fant was with the Broncos in 2019 when the Chiefs thumped Denver 23-3 on a snowy and cold day in Kansas City.

“You figured it’s a blizzard, won’t be as many fans there,” Fant told ESPN. “And it was still super loud, and they were going crazy.”

It’s not just the noise. The ESPN story noted that Chiefs fans are smart, too.

“Not only are they loud,” ESPN’s Ben Baby wrote, “but several players said Chiefs fans are knowledgeable about the game and how to make things difficult on the opponent.”
