Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson, who is on IR, shares video of a recent workout
Chiefs wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has returned from an injury suffered in the preseason.
Running back Isiah Pacheco suffered a broken ankle early in the season but he came back, too.
Both were feared to be done for the season at one point, but each has made contributions to the Chiefs offense.
Could cornerback Jaylen Watson be the next player to return from an injury in time to help the Chiefs make their push for a Super Bowl three-peat?
Watson suffered a broken ankle in October during the Chiefs’ victory at San Francisco, and he is on injured reserve. It was expected that he’d be lost for the season.
But over the weekend, Watson posted a video of him running and that was cause for celebration among Chiefs fans.
Watson, who was a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has six passes defended in six games this season.
Dr. Jesse Morse, a sports-medicine physician who often comments on NFL injuries, believes it’s possible the door is open for Watson to return to the Chiefs in a matter of weeks. That could be in time for the postseason.
“Yes,” Morse wrote, “2-3 more weeks is possible.”
