See photos from Bobby Witt Jr.’s wedding, including Whataburger-themed after-party
It’s the offseason for Major League Baseball players, but it’s also wedding season for the Royals.
Second baseman Michael Massey was married on Nov. 23, pitcher Alec Marsh tied the knot on Dec. 7 and shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. wed Maggie Black on Saturday.
Witt and Black were married in Dallas, and a number of Witt’s teammates were on hand including left fielder MJ Melendez, center fielder Kyle Isbel, first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, catcher Salvador Perez and first baseman Nick Pratto.
After the couple exchanged their vows, the reception was decorated with orchids ... and baseball bats. Then the Witts headed to an after-party that had a Whataburger theme.
Witt became a brand ambassador for Whataburger in a deal that was announced in June, and it seems possibles he included a clause for the hamburger chain to be part of his wedding.
That brand connection at a wedding is not uncommon. When Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were married, Coors Light made special bottles for their reception.
Here are photos from the wedding of Black and Witt, who finished second in the American League Most Valuable Player award voting.
Melendez shared photos and videos in this Instagram post.
