Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco recently received some bad news from the NFL.

Pacheco was fined $45,020 for unnecessary roughness during the Chiefs’ win over the Chargers on Dec. 8. The NFL said Pacheco’s use of his helmet on a play was what warranted the fine.

That’s according to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, who shared video of the play.

Football fans were not happy about the fine, and they shared their thoughts on social media. That included former Texans/Cardinals defensive lineman J.J. Watt.

Here is what Watt, who is not a CBS Sports analyst, wrote on X:

“We’d like to pay you to play football

”Plays football.

“Actually we’re going to take some of that money back.

”For what?

“Playing football”

CBS Sports’ Ian Eagle mentioned the fine Sunday during the Chiefs’ game against the Browns.

“I have to say I watched that play multiple times and it seemed like a typical football play,” analyst Charles Davis said in response. “I don’t understand that at all.”

Other NFL fans expressed their displeasure about the fine and/or were confused about why Pacheco is out so much money. Here is a very small portion of what was being said.
