Who had Chiefs’ best pregame fashion Sunday? Andy Reid in a pinstripe suit
Well, well, well, look who stole the fashion spotlight Sunday as the Chiefs arrived at SoFi Stadium for the Chargers game.
The best look of the day belonged to the guy fans don’t typically associate with memorable fashion moments. Not when compared to, say, Patrick Mahomes in his custom three-piece suits or Travis Kelce wearing clothes that may or may not hint at a Taylor Swift project.
Reid walked into SoFi in a blue pinstripe suit made for strutting, and business, and Chiefs fans loved it. He paired the suit with a crisp white shirt and red tie.
“I am loving the pinstripes. So 20’s\30’s Presidential,” one fan wrote on the team’s X account.
It was a common sentiment.
“Dressed for success!”
“So dapper!!”
“Looking sharp.”
Mahomes, who always shows out on the road, wore a purple, custom three-piece suit with his go-to Oakley sunglasses.
Defensive tackle Chris Jones stepped off the team’s plane Saturday looking very Hollywood in a white, custom, double-breasted suit by designer/stylist Tom Marchitelli’s Gentleman’s Playbook.
Marchitelli is a favorite designer with athletes, with about 404 clients in the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA. Kelce is a customer, too.
Linebacker Drue Tranquill arrived Saturday with a West Coast look — the retro-inspired, short-sleeved Cowboy Cactus button-up shirt by Chubbies. (Nothing casual about the $1,600 price tag.)
With LA temperatures in autumnal mid-70s, several players layered up Sunday.
Wide receiver Rashee Rice made a hoodie and ripped jeans look stylish.
Tight end Travis Kelce wore a Jil Sander Floral Full-Zip Jacket, the Style By Kelce account said, at a cost of a cool $2,290.
Kelce got to the game with rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who wore a just-released motocross jersey (Happy Memories Don’t Die Moreau Cross Jersey, $250-$350.)
Kelce said on the latest “New Heights” podcast he was planning to wear retro Jordan sneakers on Sunday.
“We’re wearing retros for every game. So this week will be retro for us,” Kelce said. “So be on the lookout, man. I don’t know which ones I’m going to wear yet. I’m gonna go ahead and see what exclusives I can find in either my closet or online real quick, and then throw a fit together for it.”
Center Creed Humphrey wore his usual T-shirt that lets everyone know who the Chiefs are playing that day.
