The first-ever NFL game to be streamed on Amazon Prime involved the Chiefs. Ditto for the first NFL playoff contest on Peacock.

And on Christmas Day, there will be another first involving the Chiefs.

Netflix will stream NFL games on Christmas, starting with the Chiefs at Steelers at noon. That’ll be followed by the Ravens-Texans contest.

Netflix initially didn’t release details of how it will produce the Chiefs-Steelers contest after the 2024 NFL schedule was announced. But last month, Netflix said CBS will produce both games, Reuters reported.

However, Netflix hasn’t locked down the broadcasters for the Chiefs-Steelers game.

The New York Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel reported Tuesday that Netflix reached out to Fox Sports to see if its top NFL broadcasters, Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady, could call a Christmas Day game.

Fox said no.

Netflix is now looking at broadcasters from three different networks to call those games, according to the Post: CBS Sports’ Ian Eagle and Nate Burleson, Fox Sports’ Greg Olsen and NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle.

Ian Eagle and his son, Noah, are play-by-play broadcasters, while Olsen and Burleson work as analysts. If those four end up working those Christmas Day contests, it would mean broadcasters from two networks would call the Chiefs’ game against the Steelers on Netflix.
