Former Chargers player says Chiefs’ Travis Kelce isn’t 100% focused on football
What’s wrong with Travis Kelce?
That’s a question that analyst Cris Collinsworth asked Sunday during the NBC Sports’ broadcast of the Chiefs’ 22-17 win over the Falcons in Atlanta.
“This is the third game now where we have not seen the magic between (Patrick) Mahomes and Kelce,” Collinsworth said, “and I can’t really explain it.”
After the game, NBC’s Rodney Harrison offered an explanation: Kelce is not completely focused on football.
Kelce had four receptions for 30 yards on Sunday. His season stats through three games: eight catches for 69 yards with no touchdowns.
“He’s busy. He’s got a lot on his plate,” Harrison said. “I mean, you think about it, he’s doing a lot of different things. you know. Media-wise. He’s playing football. He’s got other things going on. It’s a lot of stuff going on. But when you’re in that situation, you’ve got to forget about everything else. You got to focus 100% on football and that’s the main responsibility.”
Harrison, the former Chargers and Patriots defensive back, added: “He’s a good player still, but I don’t believe he’s a great, great player.”
Kelce puts out his New Heights podcast weekly, but he already was doing that the previous two years. And while Kelce’s new TV show “Grotesquerie” will premiere this week, he’s not doing any acting gigs during the NFL season.
Worried about Kelce
That video didn’t draw the most attention from Kelce’s fans, however. There was one during the game that people thought showed an unhappy Kelce on the Chiefs bench.
That made some fans worried about Kelce. That clip on X had several NFL fans reacting.
