The Chiefs’ Chris Jones and George Karlaftis celebrated sharing a sack during Sunday’s game. It was a temporary stat.

The Chiefs on Wednesday shared a video of a mic’d-up video of defensive lineman Chris Jones from Sunday’s game against the Bengals, and as expected, it’s a lot of fun.

At one point, there is a highlight of defensive lineman George Karlaftis sacking Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow. While on the bench, an announcement at Arrowhead Stadium said thanks to Karlaftis and Jones, everyone was eligible to get a special deal at McDonald’s.

The Chiefs pass-rushers were quite excited to hear that and Karlaftis said: “You got a half!”

Jones later added: “They gave me half of George’s sack. Let’s go!”

Here is the video and that sequence begins at the 45 second mark.

Well, that half-sack was taken from Jones on Wednesday. NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero said the league was awarding Karlaftis a full sack.

Jones’ reaction: “This is some bs”

It’s possible that the NFL watched the Chiefs’ video because Jones swore off being mic’d-up for a game. If that’s true, it’s a shame for fans, because it’s great hearing his interactions with teammates an opponents.

This story has a happy ending, because Karlaftis calmed down Jones by making him an offer he couldn’t refuse: a free meal. Here’s guessing it won’t be at McDonald’s.
