Eleven MIAA conference football games will air on Kansas City television this fall
We’re about 10 days away from the start of the college football season, and it means the Saturday television schedule will be changing radically.
There is never a shortage of football games on TV during the fall, and there will be even more starting this year.
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, which is comprised of Division II schools, announced it will have football games on KMCI 38 (The Spot) in Kansas City.
“We are excited to offer this television opportunity in the great metropolitan area to connect with the 120,000 MIAA alumni in Kansas City, and to spread awareness of the quality and competitiveness of MIAA football to college sports fans throughout this region,” MIAA commissioner Mike Racy said in a news release. “We believe that this television platform and the exposure for MIAA schools will help drive many new subscribers to the MIAA Network.”
There will be 11 football games broadcast this year, starting with the Ferris State (Michigan) at Pittsburg State game on Aug. 31.
The MIAA said all of its football games will be streamed live on the MIAA Network.
“This is a one-year trial that might develop into a longer-term partnership with Scripps, and perhaps even include broadcasting other MIAA sports,” Racy said in the release.
