The Royals’ sponsorship deal with QuikTrip was taken to a new level on Wednesday night.

Starting this season, the Royals have worn a QT patch on their jerseys, and eagle-eyed viewers will note, it’s not on the same sleeve of each player.

For left-handed hitters like Michael Massey and Vinnie Pasquantino, the patch is on their right sleeve. Salvador Perez and Bobby Witt Jr., who are right-handed hitters, have it on their left sleeve.

The reason? It means you are guaranteed to see the patch when they are batting.

After the QuikTrip sponsorship agreement was announced, the convenience store chained promised it would bring something else to the deal.

On Wednesday night, QT delivered. Following the Royals’ 8-4 win over the Red Sox, a water cooler shaped like a QuikTrip cup was used for the postgame celebration.

Pasquantino approved.

Here is video of the postgame splash that took place on Bally Sports Kansas City. That cooler cup is straight out of “Parks and Recreation.”
