Salvador Perez was mic’d-up for a Royals game. It was as awesome as you’d imagine
Kudos to Apple+ for this idea.
During the Royals’ 7-1 win over the Tigers in Detroit on Friday night, Apple put a microphone on catcher Salvador Perez. As one might expect, it was awesome to watch.
In the fourth inning, Perez singled and outfielder Hunter Renfroe followed with a double. Left fielder Ryan Vilade had trouble with the ball and Perez scored from first. He huffed and puffed (as you can hear) and was initially called out, but Perez knew he he was safe and replay later confirmed his suspicion.
After striking out against Tigers ace Tyler Skubal, Perez tipped his cap to the pitcher and it made for a fun exchange.
In the seventh inning, Perez hit a double and we got to hear Perez playing around with Tigers infielder Javy Báez and the umpire.
Not sure anyone would disagree with this thought, but it would be great to see more videos of Perez like these.
