Ex-Broncos star: Chiefs offense will be better than ever with their ‘two Tyreeks’

It’s no secret that the Chiefs spent the offseason bolstering their offense, which struggled at times a year ago.

The Chiefs signed free-agent wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and drafted Xavier Worthy, who set an NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash.

Aqib Talib says the Chiefs’ speed likely will cause trouble for opposing defensive backs. He would know, because he was an All-Pro and Pro Bowl cornerback during his 12 seasons in the NFL.

Talib, who was a star at the University of Kansas, went on to play for the Buccaneers, Broncos, Patriots and Rams. Talib was on the “Up & Adams” show last month and talked about the new-look Chiefs.

“I feel like the Chiefs, this is probably the most explosive offense that Patrick Mahomes has ever had,” Talib said. “So I’m excited to see what they do. He got this revamped offense, man, these young guys. He got Hollywood up top, Worthy up top, Rashee Rice catch and run, (running back Isiah) Pacheco. I mean, these guys are dangerous and then he still got the OG (Travis) Kelce, so I don’t know, man. It’s gonna be hard to stop this Chiefs team. It’s gonna be hard to stop them.”

Adams asked if Talib really believed this team was more explosive than when Tyreek Hill played with the Chiefs.

“I think so because you almost got a Tyreek. You got a Tyreek, you got almost two of them,” Talib said. “Now you got Hollywood and Worthy. You can stretch the field with both of those guys. Then you got one of the best catch-and-run guys underneath in Rashee Rice. He’s almost like a Debo Samuel type. And then you got Kelce and then you got a great running back. And then they got Andy Heck, man, it don’t matter who you give him on the O-line. He seems to revamp them and have them Super Bowl ready by the end of the season, man. So I love what they do with that O-line. And it’s just a lot of explosion around them.

“Now they got a bunch of guys who can play football. And then Mahomes, he’s just now getting into his veteran days now. We may be looking at the GOAT.”

Given that Hill was voted the best player in the NFL by his peers, having two of them would be a boon for the Chiefs, right?
