Photos were shared earlier this year of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason, on the set of a commercial.

It appeared to be a spot for Lucky Charms, judging by the social media posts.

As it turns out, the brothers are helping launch a new type of cereal. It’s called Kelce Mix and it’s a mashup of three General Mills favorites: Reese’s Puffs, Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

According to Nutritionix, the cereal will be 150 calories per serving with 11 grams of sugar.

Earlier this year, the Kelce brothers listed their five favorite cereals and both had Reese’s Puffs at No. 1. But Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch made the cut, too.

“You can’t beat the marshmallows,” Travis Kelce said of Lucky Charms.

Both of them had Cinnamon Toast Crunch in their top three. But Reese’s Puffs was their clear favorite.

“I could eat a whole box right now,” Travis said of Reese’s Puffs. “Literally an entire box. I could ... put it in a popcorn bowl and just ... add the entire gallon of milk to it and just walk it. Just absolutely walk it. I will eat it. It will take me like three hours to do it and I’ll just be eating the soggy ones at the bottom that I still enjoy.”

‘It works’

At the Cannes Lions advertising festival earlier this year in France, the Kelce brothers talked about the new cereal.

“We were like, this is going to be terrible, but it’s good,” Jason Kelce said, per the Philadelphia Inquirer. “Trust me, I don’t know why it works, but it works.”

Travis added helpfully: “I do. It’s sugar.”

But Travis walked that back a bit and said he ate the cereal all day while shooting the commercial and never got sick, the Inquirer story said.

Those commercials will feature the brothers at “General Mills’ Cereal Training Camp.” According to a news release, “they competed in challenges like the Cinnadust sprayer and the Lucky Charms Marshmallow Mission.”

The commercials will be released on television, social media and online.

General Mills also will be releasing limited-edition Kelces’ Pick boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms and Reese’s Puffs cereal. The faces of Travis and Jason are on each box and there are cartoon images of the brothers on the back with games for kids (or adults) to play.
