History repeated itself this year, and Chiefs fans couldn’t be happier.

The Chiefs won a second straight Super Bowl, and now tight end Travis Kelce is ready to celebrate that victory with another music festival.

The second annual Kelce Jam, the music festival owned by Kelce, will be May 18 at Azura Amphitheater. Five-time Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Wayne will headline the show, which also includes DJ Diplo and the rapper 2Chainz.

Kelce said he wants to show his appreciation to Kansas City.

“This city has given me so much love, so much support throughout my career with the Chiefs,” Kelce told The Star. “It’s more than just a festival; it’s a way to give back, to celebrate together — the music, the food, the vibes. On that note, grateful to Jim Beam for coming on board as presenting partner and providing free KC BBQ to fans.

“Kelce Jam Is about creating an experience where everyone comes together as one big family. Kansas City is my second home, and Kelce Jam is my way of saying thank you and showing my love right back.

“When planning this festival, it was incredibly important to me that we could make it accessible to fans. That’s why it’s an all-ages festival, for the whole city, with tickets starting at $50.”

Lil Wayne has sold 25 million records, Business Insider reported last summer, the sixth-most all-time among rappers. WWOZ radio noted Lil Wayne also has sold 92 million digital tracks.

“It’s unreal,” Kelce said. “He’s a legend in the game, someone whose music has been a soundtrack to so many moments in my life and the lives of our fans. To have him join us at Kelce Jam is an honor. It’s going to elevate the experience, bringing that energy and passion that he uniquely delivers.”

Ticket information

Ticket prices start at $49.99 and a presale will be held Friday at 10 a.m. Event organizers say fans can register online at KelceJam.com for that preseale. A Cash App Card Holder presale will be Thursday at 10 a.m.

VIP passes start at $249.99.

The chip maker Takis is sponsoring a livestream of the music festival. It will be available on the Kelce Jam social channels.

“Making Kelce Jam available via livestream is the next chapter in bringing this festival to a wider audience. Really grateful for Takis for coming on board to make this happen,” Kelce said.

“It’s about inclusivity, making sure anyone, anywhere can be a part of this experience. Not everyone can make it to Kansas City, but that shouldn’t stop them from enjoying the music, the energy, the community. It’s also a way to spread the love of KC across the globe, showing off what makes this city special. It lets our fans be a part of something big, no matter where they are.”

Last year’s Kelce Jam was a hit with fans, and Kelce made national headlines by spiking a replica Lombardi Trophy.
