Forget the Chiefs’ cap space for a moment. Let’s talk about the caps the newest Chiefs players will be wearing during the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.

More often than not, the caps for the NFL Draft are met with derision from football fans. Not so this year.

Chiefs fans had a mostly positive attitude about the caps. Here is a look at this year’s version.

What caught the eye of Chiefs fans wasn’t simply the design of the arrowhead on the front of the cap. There is a patch on the side that includes the images of the states of Missouri and Kansas.

Some folks in Missouri take umbrage when someone from outside the area says the Chiefs are from Kansas. Here is a closer look at that patch.

Another touch within that patch is the number 142.2. That was the decibel level at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in 2014 when the record for the loudest stadium in the world was set.

Here is a bit of what Chiefs fans were saying about the caps, which you can order here. Predictably, there was plenty of discussion about the states.
