The Chiefs will be going for the first Super Bowl threepeat in NFL history next season, but even if they achieve the goal, not everyone will have three rings.

Kicker Harrison Butker summed it up well in the latest episode of “The Franchise” from the Chiefs.

“When you get to the Super Bowl, that is the last game you’re going to play with this set of teammates because every team is different, coaching staff and players,” Butker says. “So you cherish that time together, that last game together.”

The Chiefs said farewell to a trio of players this week as offensive lineman Nick Allegretti signed with the Commanders, punter Tommy Townsend joined the Texans and the Saints agreed to a contract with linebacker Willie Gay Jr.

Allegretti penned a nice farewell note to Chiefs fans on Wednesday.

“Kansas City! From the bottom of my heart, Thank You! You will always be a second home to my family and I,” Allegretti wrote on X. “For the rest of my life you will be the place I became a Husband, the place I became a Father, and the place I became a 3x SB Champ! Love you KC!”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes responded to that post by writing: “One of the best teammates i ever had! Congrats on everything brotha!”

Gay also shared a message for Chiefs fans and his now former team on X.

He wrote: “Chiefs Kingdom!!!! Man, I’m so blessed you took a chance on this country boy from Mississippi. Lord knows I was so scared moving 10 hours away from home, lol, but the Amazing fans and people in general here made my transition so much easier. People of Kansas City, I love you all. To The Hunt Family, Brett Veach, Coach Spags, and my favorite, lol, BIG RED, THANK YOU GUYS for accepting me for who I was coming in as just a young, energetic football-loving Young man. Over four years, I’ve been to 3 Super Bowls and four AFC championships and won 2 rings. Ok, I’m done bragging , but I’m so thankful for the Chiefs organization. I LOVE YALL FOREVER. Now I have to see if I can get my son to stop watching and singing the Red Kingdom videos I’m so excited for the next chapter of my career #WHODAT NATION it’s go time.”

Chiefs fan/award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet responded: “Willie fan for life”

Mahomes shared this message: “Going to miss you brotha!”

Linebacker Drue Tranquill shared a saying that the Chiefs defensive players told one another.

“’Energy is contagious’ We had this motto as a defense & no one embodied it better than 50.Will miss you brother .. God Speed in Nola,” Tranquill wrote.
