Melissa Etheridge admits she was a ‘fangirl’ after bumping into Chiefs’ Chris Jones
Singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge has won a pair of Emmy Awards, an Academy Award and traveled the world headlining concerts. It’s clear she is comfortable on a big stage.
But Etheridge admitted she turned into a fangirl after a chance encounter with Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones.
While many big-name stars have joined the Chiefs bandwagon in recent years, Etheridge has been a fan since her days growing up in Leavenworth in the 1960s.
Etheridge wears her heart on her sleeve when it comes to the Chiefs, having debuted songs about the team on the NFL Network.
That would explain her reaction to meeting Jones at the airport.
“On my way to St. Louis and I met @StoneColdJones in the airport!!” Etheridge wrote in a message on X. “I was a complete fangirl!! I told him his momma might know who I was! Wow…so grateful. Come on @Chiefs sign this man to forever be a #Chiefs player! ... #ChiefsKingdom I’m short.”
By the way, most people would look short while posing for a photo with the 6-foot-6 Jones.
