Chiefs players heard cheers Sunday, which may seem odd considering they didn’t play a game.

But when some of those players headed to the airport for a flight to Las Vegas ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, Chiefs fans came out to show their support.

Neighbors of linebackers Willie Gay Jr. and Leo Chenal, along with wide receiver Rashee Rice, lined the street and rooted for the players Sunday. Some made signs and threw confetti.

Here is video of Chenal hearing cheers from those who live near him.

This is what Gay heard when he was heading to Wheeler Airport for the flight to Vegas.

Rice, the rookie receiver, received a hero’s farewell, too, as fans watched him drive away. You can see that video here.
