Raiders’ Jack Jones offered football to young Chiefs fan, then pulled it back

The Chiefs have dominated the Raiders over the past 10 years, and younger fans in Kansas City might wonder why this rivalry is a big deal.

But Las Vegas cornerback Jack Jones did his part to restore the hatred of the Raiders among Chiefs fans during the Christmas Day game.

Jones had a pick-six in the second quarter and jawed at Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on his way to the end zone. After scoring, Jones seemed to be looking for just the right fan at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to give the ball.

A young Chiefs fan thought he’d be getting a cool keepsake. Instead, Jones pulled it away.

An update: Jones said on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that he “didn’t snatch that ball from the kid,” but rather from another fan who was trying to pull it away.

Nevertheless, Raiders fans loved Jones’ apparent fakeout, but others were not happy with the move. Here is a small sample of what people were saying.
