For Pete's Sake

Chiefs linemen had so much fun driving golf carts Patrick Mahomes gifted them

Anyone who was near the Truman Sports Complex this week may have seen an unusual site.

There were golf carts zooming around the expansive parking lot. The drivers: Chiefs offensive linemen.

Center Creed Humphrey and tackle Donovan Smith shared photos on their Instagram stories of the golf carts, which were Christmas gifts from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Smith wrote: “Appreciate you! King” and tagged Mahomes. Humphrey also tagged Mahomes in his post.

Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay apparently was taken for a ride in the golf cart and shared a video on Instagram.

X user Lexi Osborne shared that video of the golf carts being driven around the Truman Sports Complex. The Chiefs players looked like they were having a lot of fun, thanks to the gifts from Mahomes.

Gay was certainly envious.

The Chiefs shared video of the linemen receiving the golf carts, which have their name and number on the side. There’s also lights, a speaker system and horn. The players all seemed thrilled at the Christmas gift.

“A little joy ride when we first got them,” guard Trey Smith said. “It was super cool.”

“It’s awesome how much he takes care of his o-line year in and your out since I’ve been here,” Smith added. “It’s incredible.”

Golf carts are apparently the gift of choice for NFL quarterbacks this holiday season. The Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence also gave golf carts to his offensive linemen for Christmas.
