Taylor Swift heard some boos but Patriots fans also bought her merch & Travis Kelce’s
When Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stopped at Foxborough, Massachusetts, in May, she apparently called Gillette Stadium “the most joyful place on earth.”
That was before she began dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, of course.
On Sunday, Swift returned to Gillette Stadium and watched the Chiefs’ 27-17 win over the Patriots. The Patriots couldn’t help but include that quote from Swift while showing her on the videoboard, along with her father, Scott, and Brittany Mahomes.
While Swift mostly heard cheers, there were some Patriots fans who booed, upsetting her fans.
Swift has talked about the visceral reaction football fans have when the cameras are pointed at her during a game.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” Swift told Time magazine. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
That quote went viral and it was was featured on a cookie at Sunday’s game, as Mahomes shared in an Instagram story.
This is funny.
There’s an interesting twist to the boos on Sunday and the fans who are upset when Swift is shown on television. People are snapping up Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce items, even in sports stores in New England.
WMUR-TV in New Hampshire aired this story of Kelce/Swift gear being sold in the heart of Patriots country. It upset some people but others were happy to have the opportunity to get their hands on Kelce and Swift items on Sunday.
