Two national writers think Chiefs should sit Skyy Moore for rest of season
Another week, another controversial penalty call.
This time, however, it didn’t rankle the Chiefs. In fact, they were the beneficiary of a flag that wiped away a fumble during Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
Wide receiver Skyy Moore had caught a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and picked up 13 yards before he fumbled. New England’s Jabril Peppers recovered and it appeared the Chiefs’ opening drive of the second half had come to an all-too-familiar end this season.
Instead, the Patriots’ Alex Austin was called for defensive holding and you can judge for yourself if this was actually a penalty.
One thing was certain: many Chiefs fans were frustrated by the fumble, even if it didn’t count.
Ditto for Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football writer Andy Behrens. He shared this on X (formerly Twitter): “Skyy Moore negated fumble should be a great reminder to the Chiefs to JUST PUT MOORE ON THE SHELF UNTIL SUMMER 2024.”
Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame said the Chiefs should simply part ways with Moore.
“That should be the last snap of Skyy Moore’s tenure with the Chiefs,” Verderame wrote on X.
Many, many fans also chimed in with thoughts about Moore. Here is a small sample of what the were saying.
