NFL fans got a laugh out of Amazon’s ‘Chargering’ graphic about the Chargers

Here’s guessing there won’t be any stories trumpeting the huge television ratings for the latest “Thursday Night Football” game.

The Raiders rolled to a 42-point halftime lead and crushed the Chargers 63-21 in Las Vegas.

As the Raiders piled up the first-half touchdowns, Amazon Prime showed a graphic of a word that has been used to describe the Chargers’ woes in recent years.

The Chargers have lost a number of close one-score games, including last year’s postseason collapse against the Jaguars. So Amazon’s graphic showed a dictionary opening to the word “Chargering.”

It’s a verb that means “to lose in heartbreaking fashion.” The Chargers have lost five one-score games this season, but it was a different kind of heartbreak on Thursday, as they couldn’t stop turning the ball over or keep the Raiders out of the end zone.

While Chargers fans didn’t like the graphic, fans of other teams thought it was funny. Here is a look at some of what was being shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night.
