Chiefs’ Andy Reid is really happy that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift found each other
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce did his best George Clooney imitation this month.
In the movie “Up In The Air,” Clooney’s character piled up the frequent-flier miles, and Kelce has spent a lot of time flying over the last 10 days.
Kelce and the Chiefs jetted to Frankfurt, Germany on Nov. 2, then made the trip back home a few days later. Kelce then made a high-profile trip to Argentina last Thursday to see his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
The Daily Mail reported Kelce left at 11 p.m. and had a “one-hour stop in Panama City to refuel before flying into Buenos Aires to reunite with Swift Friday afternoon.”
The trip to Buenos Aires made headlines around the world as Swift changed the lyrics of a song in honor of Kelce and the two shared a very public kiss.
Kelce then departed Buenos Aires on Sunday afternoon for the trip back to Kansas City as the Chiefs return to practice after the bye week.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked at Monday’s news conference if his assistant coaches ever mention Taylor Swift to him. In answering the question, Reid talked about how happy he is for Kelce and Swift.
“No, nobody’s really mentioned much on that,” Reid said. “It is what it is, and I’m just glad he’s found somebody he likes and she’s found somebody she likes, and that’s a good thing.”
Reid has known Swift for decades, as he said last month on Donovan McNabb’s podcast.
“Her dad is a big NFL fan so I had met her when she was real young and her dad,” Reid said of Swift, who is 33. “I joked about setting Kelce up, but um, you know, I’m just saying.”
