A 1940 grad of Travis Kelce’s high school asks Chiefs star for Taylor Swift’s autograph

Five years ago, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce received a special honor from his former high school.

Kelce was inducted into the Cleveland Heights High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame, along with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce.

That came 10 years after Travis Kelce graduated from the high school. Last month, Cleveland Heights added a new class of honorees, including Howard Tucker, a doctor.

Tucker’s induction came 83 years later after he graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. That’s not a typo, because Howard is 101 years old.

The Guinness Book of World Records said in 2021 that Tucker was the oldest practicing doctor. However, the medical center where he worked closed a year ago, according to Cleveland.com.

That story also noted that Tucker was the Chief of Neurology for the Atlantic Fleet during the Korean War and 34 years ago passed the bar exam in Ohio.

Yep, Tucker became a lawyer in 1989, the same year the Chiefs star was born. That’s also the birth year for Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, whose best-selling album is “1989.” And the recent release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)“ already has sold more than 1 million copies, according to Billboard.

That makes 1989 special to Tucker, Kelce and Swift. During Tucker’s induction ceremony, he made a request of his fellow Hall of Famer, Kelce.

“This nomination has shattered my modesty,” Tucker quipped in his speech. “This has all been modified by the fact that it took me 83 years while it took Travis Kelce 10 years. And I’m hoping that now that he and I are in the same fraternity, he will manage to get me the autograph of his lady, Taylor Swift.”

Adorable, right?

Cleveland.com said Tucker added: “I do have a son, Peter Tucker, who collects autographs. I’m sure he would appreciate it.”
