To be fair, it’s tough to defeat a team 17 times in a row.

The Chiefs have dominated their all-time series with the Broncos and took a 16-game winning streak in the series into Sunday’s game against the Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.

But everything that could go wrong did for the Chiefs in a 24-9 loss to Denver.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was battling the flu and didn’t look like his usual self. The Chiefs turned the ball over five times and continued to have troubles in the red zone.

It was an all-around terrible afternoon in the Mile High City. Chiefs fans shared their thoughts on the game on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Reddit. Here is what they were saying.

A fan on Facebook wrote: “This one was hard to watch.”

Another shared this sentiment: “The Chiefs are in major trouble until they go out and get a halfway decent receiving core.”

A fan on Reddit wrote: “as usual, only team that can beat the chiefs is the chiefs.”

Another shared this: “Coaching staff is not taking this game seriously at all. Weirdly conservative playcalling. Garbage short yardage decision making. Doesn’t really look like anybody on the KC sidelines cares that we might lose this. Frustrating.”

On Reddit, a fan wrote: “It seems we’re dead set on making the worst decisions possible in every play, which means we are destined to lose today…”

On Facebook, a fan shared this thought: “We are still in first place in the division, and tied for 1st in the league. It’s a loss, but doesn’t define us or our season. Come on those of you fair weather fans, keep the faith! LOVE OUR CHIEFS!!!”

Another wrote: “Get at least 2 new WRs before it comes back to haunt us!!”

And this was another thought: “Get well soon mahomes Let’s get ready for W in Germany.”
