For Pete's Sake

Field-invading Phillies fan got crushed by security guard and Philly pitchers loved it

It was a near-perfect evening for Phillies fans on Tuesday, save for one.

The Phillies thumped the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-0 in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series in front of 45,412 fans at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

One of those fans made the unfortunate decision to run on the field, and it didn’t end well. Quick reminder: It never ends well when you decide on your own to run on the field.

This guy was celebrating his life and never saw a security guard who delivered a crushing hit. The best part of this video from X user Dunphy 215 was the reaction of the Phillies bullpen members who got a big laugh out of the fan taking an NFL-type hit.

While this fan likely ended up in jail, the other 45,411 fans at the game went home happy. We know there were only Phillies fans at the game, because a Phoenix television reporter attempted to find a Diamondbacks supporter to chat with before Tuesday’s game.

After a two-hour search of the ballpark, he came up empty.

There should be plenty of Diamondbacks fans when the series moves to Phoenix for Game 3 on Thursday night. Let’s hope none of them decides to leave the stands.
