The Frank Clark Era was over in a flash in Denver.

After four seasons with the Chiefs, Clark signed with the Broncos in the offseason but appeared in just two games. Clark last week agreed to a pay cut to $841,000 (the league minimum) from his $3.5 million base salary, according to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

NBC Sports said the Broncos released Clark on Saturday, meaning he can sign with any team. Clark is no longer listed on the Broncos’ roster.

Could Clark return to the Chiefs, a team he helped win two Super Bowls? According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, it’s a possibility.

Russini recently wrote a story about the NFL’s trade deadline, which is Oct. 31, and mentioned the Chiefs.

“Clark restructured his deal and gave up money along with incentives in order to get traded or released,” Russini wrote. “That tells you how badly he wanted to get out of there. I was told the Chiefs are having a discussion and are interested in reuniting with the pass rusher.”

CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin listed possible landing spots for Clark, and the Chiefs are in the No. 1 spot.

“K.C. star Chris Jones recently teased on social media that he’s been lobbying for the pass rusher’s return,” Benjamin wrote. “While he’s better suited in a rotation these days, Clark knows Steve Spagnuolo’s system well and would surely embrace a return.”

Should the Chiefs pursue a reunion with Clark, who is 30 years old? Vote in our poll and/or leave a comment.
