It won’t be long before Kansas State men’s basketball coach Jerome Tang will be fully immersed in practices for the 2023-24 season.

Before then, he’ll make a trip to Kansas City for Sunday’s Chiefs-Bears game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Tang, who seemingly never lacks for energy, will be tasked with getting Chiefs fans fired up for the game.

The Chiefs announced Tang will be the drum leader for the game.

That is one of the special events planned for Sunday, the Chiefs said.

“Good Morning America” reporter Stephanie Ramos, who the Chiefs said is an Army Reserve Major, will sing the national anthem. Ramos is a former KMBC-TV anchor.

There will be a flyover by four Apache helicopters from Fort Riley, the Chiefs said, and the Lenexa Fire Department Honor Guard will present the colors.

Halftime show

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, the Chiefs said “special halftime performances will include the dance group Grupo Folklorico Izcalli along with musicals groups Trio Aztlan and Making Movies.”
