Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes got a grammatical reminder after Aaron Rodgers injury
Unfortunately for the Jets and their fans, quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ debut in New York took an ugly turn on Monday night.
Rodgers was on the field for just three minutes of real time during the Jets’ 22-16 overtime win against the Bills before he had to leave because of what the team fears is an Achilles injury.
Football fans everywhere were sad to see Rodgers go down, and that included Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He shared a message of support for Rodgers on social media.
“Hate that man... Praying for the best,” Mahomes wrote on X (once known as Twitter).
Apparently, more than a few people noted Mahomes should have used a comma in that message, because it read like there was ill-will between the current and former State Farm pitchmen.
Mahomes was able to use the edit function because he’s a premium X subscriber, and he inserted the comma.
“Knew i was going to need that edit button on here one of these days,” Mahomes wrote, and he included a fun emoji.
Here is the edited version of the post with that all-important comma.
And that one punctuation mark from Mahomes made the Merriam-Webster dictionary folks very happy.
