It’s been a rough year at the plate for White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson — and at second base.

The latter is a reference to Anderson’s unfortunate decision to fight Cleveland’s José Ramírez during a game earlier this month.

Ramírez decked Anderson, setting off one of the best calls in baseball this season from Cleveland broadcaster Tom Hamilton (“Down goes Anderson! Down goes Anderson!”).

The fisticuffs are one of the bigger stories from the 2023 season. Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera playfully brought up the moment last week while being presented with a gift guitar by Ramírez in Cleveland.

Ramírez wanted no part of the banter, but it was a funny moment.

The fight came up again on Monday when the Guardians played the Twins. When Ramírez stepped to the plate, the scoreboard displayed this message: “Currently 1-0 with a 1st round TKO of Tim Anderson and a no-decision against Miguel Cabrera.”

Star Tribune sports columnist La Velle E. Neal III, a former Kansas City Star writer, shared a photo of the troll job by the Twins.

The Twins mentioned the Royals’ four Central rivals in one funny message.
