Chiefs players were dressed to the nines when they attended the Super Bowl ring ceremony earlier this summer at Union Station.

At that time, wide receiver Skyy Moore told Kimmi Chex, who was interviewing players for a team video, that he was wearing a suit that was a gift from tight end Travis Kelce.

“I’m definitely coming with a 10,” Moore said. “The Thom Browne suit. Shout-out to Trav, got it for me for my rookie season.”

Moore and Chex spoke again Saturday, this time on the Chiefs’ sideline during the preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Chex asked about how Kelce has helped Moore, and he called the Pro Bowl tight end his mentor.

“You know Trav’s always been there, every step of the way since I got drafted, so he’s definitely a mentor and helping me with the playbook and helping me with like life off the field,” Moore said. “You know, just how I’m supposed to handle certain things, being a Chief and just being a young man in my position. So shoutout to Trav. That’s my guy.”

Moore had 22 receptions for 250 yards last season as a rookie. His lone touchdown reception came at an opportune time: in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII.

Having an NFL season under his belt has Moore excited for the year ahead.

“I just was waiting on this clean slate for some time now,” Moore told Chex. “And I felt like I got a good head of steam coming into my sophomore season. So I just can’t wait to, you know, do it for real Sept. 7. Get out there and start showing everybody what I’ve been doing in the offseason.”
