Omaha Storm Chasers outfielder John Rave made headlines earlier this month for his amazing juggling catch while falling to the ground.

Another video of Rave was widely shared over the weekend, but it wasn’t for something that happened in a game.

While warming up for the Storm Chasers, who are the Royals’ Triple-A affiliate, Rave tossed the ball with a young fan in the outfield stands. But this game wasn’t in Nebraska.

Rave took the time to play catch with a boy who had come to see the Toledo Mud Hens play. However, that kid is now a John Rave fan.

On X (née Twitter), Gregg Farley wrote: “Thank you to John Rave, you made a lifelong fan! Playing catch with a baseball loving kid between innings in Toledo! You don’t know how much this meant to him! He roots for you now, Good Luck John!”

This is a great video.

Rave was selected by the Royals in the fifth round of the 2019 MLB Draft. He is batting .262 with 25 walks and nine doubles in 46 games with the Storm Chasers since being promoted from Double-A during the season.
