Sure, social media can sometimes bring out the worst in people, and you don’t need to be on Twitter (or X) to see that.

But every once in a while something special happens on Twitter and that was the case Monday.

After the Chiefs’ training-camp session in St. Joseph, safety Justin Reid asked his Twitter followers for help. A teammate had been handed artwork from a young fan, and asked that it be delivered to Reid.

When Reid got the special pictures, he wanted to thank the fan personally.

“Twitter, can y’all help me find this young man - Cade Nichols- that was at training camp earlier today and gave this to a teammate to give to me,” Reid wrote. “Would like to give a gift back to him!”

It didn’t take long for Reid to get his answer.

Shortly after that tweet, Cade Nichols’ mother, Janice, responded to Reid and even shared video of Cade giving the artwork to defensive tackle Matt Dickerson.

Here is a picture of the artist.

If Reid ends up connecting with Cade, which seems likely, we will update this story.
