The New York Jets announce they’ll wear special uniforms for game against Chiefs
The Chiefs’ first “Sunday Night Football” game of the 2023 season should be a good one.
Barring an unfortunate turn of events, a prime-time audience will see the Jets and new quarterback Aaron Rodgers play host to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Oct. 1.
Rodgers and Mahomes, who are both pitchmen for State Farm Insurance, have never faced off in a game, so that’ll be reason enough for many NFL fans to watch.
Jets supporters will tune in to see something else.
Teams playing in prime time sometimes wear special uniform combinations, and that’ll be the case for New York. The Jets announced Monday they’ll be in “Legacy White” throwback uniforms, which the teams said is “a design reminiscent of the uniforms worn by the team from 1979-89.”
The Jets-Chiefs game will be played at MetLife Stadium, which will have some new touches for the Oct. 1 contest.
This is from the Jets’ website: “When the Green & White wear their throwbacks, MetLife Stadium will also be updated with Legacy branding including the Jets Sack Exchange logo on the 50-yard line. There will also be Legacy-themed end zones, a throwback wall wrap and in-game entertainment that will take fans back to the era. On the sideline, players, coaches and staff will wear Legacy gear.”
