Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino is on the road to recovery.

Pasquantino, 25, had surgery this week to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, and he will miss the rest of the 2023 season.

The Royals on Wednesday shared a photo of Pasquantino from a hospital bed and wrote in a Twitter message: “Vinnie Pasquantino had successful surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. We wish him the best in his recovery and look forward to him being fully healthy for next season!”

While it’s not unusual for a team to share a photo of a player in a hospital bed following surgery, you don’t usually see the patient wearing sunglasses.

But Pasquantino was wearing shades in the photo and fans absolutely loved it. The responses to the Royals’ Twitter post were of support — and admiration for how cool Pasquantino looked.

Here is what fans were saying.
