A minor-league player hit a 514-foot home run, the longest in pro baseball this season
Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton hit the longest home run in the major leagues this season, a stunning 485-foot shot against the San Francisco Giants.
On Tuesday night, an Angels minor-leaguer hit a home run that traveled a whopping 29 feet farther than Stanton’s blast.
Salt Lake Bees outfielder Jo Adell swatted a 514-foot shot that is the longest in minor-league baseball this season. Adell told MiLB.com’s Brendan Samson that taking a called strike on a 3-0 pitch earlier in the game helped set him up for that home-run swing.
“When I came up during that at-bat, I kind of got the same sequence, it was a 3-0 count, runners were on base this time and I figured if I get something in the zone, just be ready,” Adell told Samson. “I happened to get a pitch that was over the plate, and I put probably one of my best swings ever on it.”
Wait, probably one of his best swings?
This was a no-doubter, but the Sugar Land Space Cowboys left fielder did take a few steps back. Perhaps it was simply to get a better look at this tater.
It’s not often you see fans sprinting away from the field in pursuit of a baseball.
