All of the Parade of Hearts statues will be on display at Kauffman Stadium next month
The Parade of Hearts has returned this year, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the sculptures around Kansas City.
There are 40 sculptures spread around the metro area, and some people make it a point of visiting each one.
That requires a time commitment and a bit of driving. But there will be an easier way to view the sculptures.
All 40 hearts will be on display at Kauffman Stadium from July 14-20, the Royals announced. They will be on the concourse around The K.
“Parade of Hearts is an art experience with the single purpose of uniting and celebrating our region,” Alex Schulte, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the Kansas City Royals, said in a news release. “We believe art, like sports, has this ability to break down barriers and pull people together around something that’s exciting and inspiring.”
The Parade of Hearts began last year and each sculpture was later auctioned with the money raised going to charity and artists, the Royals said.
This year’s beneficiaries include The University of Kansas Health System, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and The Family Conservancy, according to the news release.
Here is a description of the Parade of Hearts from the official website: “From April through the Fourth of July, communities from across the Kansas City region will show the world why we are known as America’s Heartland and why we have the biggest hearts. We fabricated 5-(foot) heart sculptures and asked local artists to design them to create an unprecedented art experienced rooted in hope and unity.”
Fans can purchase tickets here for the Royals games (the Rays and Tigers will be the opponents) when the Parade of Hearts will be on display.
