First-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah shows off jersey number he’ll wear with Chiefs

Felix Anudike-Uzomah is changing leagues and numbers.

Anudike-Uzomah, the former Kansas State star, was selected Thursday night with the final pick of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Chiefs.

On Friday, Anudike-Uzomah showed off the jersey he will be wearing with the Chiefs, starting this fall. It’s No. 97.

Only 13 players in Chiefs history have worn No. 97, per Pro Football Reference.

The most recent player to wear the number was Alex Okafor in 2021, when he appeared in all 17 regular-season games with the Chiefs.

Former Chiefs Pro Bowl nose tackle Dan Saleaumua had the most success while wearing No. 97. He played for the Chiefs from 1989 to 1996 and had 28 sacks and 17 fumble recoveries in that time.
