While the big-league club has stumbled out of the gate, Royals prospect Frank Mozzicato is off to a blazing start with Class A Columbia.

Mozzicato, who was the Royals’ first-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, has yet to allow a run in two starts for the Fireflies. The 6-foot-3 Mozzicato has given up just four hits in 11 innings pitched with six walks and 20 strikeouts.

On Tuesday night, Mozzicato struck out 13 batters in six innings.

Mozzicato, 19, is the Royals’ No. 7 prospect, according to MLB.com.
