My colleague Sam McDowell has a nice look at the Chiefs’ wide receiver situation and why things aren’t as dire as some fans my believe.

Nevertheless, many fans would love for the Chiefs to select a wide receiver in the first round of next week’s NFL Draft.

There also are those who would welcome a Chiefs trade for Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has been shopped around by Arizona.

There are a few big reasons why that would be difficult, notably Hopkins’ 2023 salary cap hit of $30.75 million, per ESPN. There’s a chance Hopkins could be cut by the Cardinals, which could open the door to the Chiefs signing him to a reworked contract.

But would Hopkins, a three-time All-Pro, want to join the Chiefs? It seems he’s open to the move.

CBS Sports shared a video Sunday on Twitter in which Hopkins was asked to give visual clues about a potential trade to four teams, including the Chiefs. It’s a silly exercise but, hey, Hopkins can’t come right out and say where he wants to be traded.

It’s clear, though, that he’d welcome a move to KC.
