Some people wear their hearts on their sleeves, and others share those emotions on social media.

A good example of the latter is former Chiefs defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, who is one of the more entertaining people to follow on Twitter.

On Tuesday, Saunders shared a heartfelt message about being a free agent.

“I’m not built for free agency lol, my whole life at any level I’ve been the unifier in the locker room,” Saunders wrote. “So my relationships with my dawgs be different, be personal. This ... feel like transferring schools from my best friends my big ass been emotional as hell.”

The next day came news that Saunders had agreed to a three-year, $14.5 million deal with the New Orleans Saints. That would explain why he was so impassioned.

It was interesting to see how excited many of his now former Chiefs teammates were that Saunders got a big payday.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes wrote: “Congrats big dawg! @khalenNOTkaylen Going to miss locker room basketball tho !”

Defensive tackle Chris Jones shared this after Saunders wrote a message to the Chiefs defensive players.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire promised to give Saunders some ideas on where to eat in the Big Easy.

Among the people to respond to Instagram posts from Saunders were Chiefs linebackers Willie Gay and L’Jarius Sneed, defensive linemen George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, Carlos Dunlap, Joshua Kaindoh, Tershawn Wharton and Malik Herring; and newly retired quarterback Chad Henne.

Former Chiefs Frank Clark and Charvarius Ward also sent best wishes to Saunders.

That’s a lot of love and support for Saunders from those who played with him, and it’s clear he’ll be missed in KC.
