Dennis Gates’ young son cheering for Mizzou at NCAA Tournament warmed hearts of fans

Thursday was a very good day for the Missouri men’s basketball team.

The Tigers defeated Utah State 76-65 in their opening-round NCAA Tournament game in Sacramento, then watched 15th-seeded Princeton stun second-seed Arizona.

That sets up a Tigers vs. Tigers matchup for a spot in the Sweet 16. Although Mizzou won’t be looking past Princeton, facing a 15 seed at this stage of the tournament is preferable to taking on Arizona, which is ranked eighth in the AP poll.

Mizzou fans also got to see maybe the cutest fan in the entire NCAA Tournament. This is Denver Gates, the young son of Tigers coach Dennis Gates:
