Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is in his fifth season in the NFL, and his receiving yards per game have increased each year.

Goedert was interviewed on SiriusXM this week and talked about how Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has affected his career as the two prepare to play in Super Bowl LVII.

Kelce, a four-time All-Pro, topped 1,000 receiving yards for a record seventh straight season, and Goedert said he’s learned much from the Chiefs tight end since he was at South Dakota State.

“Man, I’ve been studying him since I was in college,” Goedert said. “I don’t know if this is his sixth, seventh or eighth 1,000 yard straight season, which for a receiver is incredible, (for) a tight end is just unheard of. Yeah, just watching him. he’s an incredible player. There’s a reason he’s been at the top of his position.“

Goedert also has attended advanced learning courses at Tight End University. That was started in 2021 by Kelce, along with 49ers tight end George Kittle and former NFL player Greg Olsen.

While at that now yearly event, Goedert sat down with Kelce to talk about being a better tight end.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to go to Tight End University the last few years,” Goedert said. “And just listen to what he says, how smart he is, what he’s thinking when he’s running routes.

“And I think even more than watching his film when I was able to sit down with him, ask him a few questions, pick his brain, I feel like I was able to improve my game so much just from talking to him because he really is a special player, a special mind. There’s a reason he’s as good as he is.”

Although Kelce likely hopes Goedert is a non-factor in Sunday’s game, he talked about Tight End University on Thursday at a Super Bowl LVII news conference.

“There’s a lot of talent in the tight end room across the league and I’m very fortunate here that coach (Andy) Reid showcases my talents on the field a lot and puts a lot of trust in me to have success with this offense,” Kelce said. “And I’m just hoping that because of Tight End U we can keep creating that spark in the tight end room and the type of mismatches that we can have out there on the field, so leaguewide we can really get the position that much more ingrained in the offense.”
