Chiefs fans share their concerns about an ‘ugly’ 27-24 win over the Denver Broncos
The Chiefs needed a fourth-quarter comeback but managed to beat the Denver Broncos 27-24 on Sunday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
That was the Chiefs’ 15th straight win over the Broncos and kept KC in the race for the top seed in the AFC field.
But there were reasons for concern among Chiefs fans, who saw wide receiver Skyy Moore, cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and tackle Joe Thuney all leave with injuries. And the victory was a little too close for comfort against a four-win Broncos team.
Here is what Chiefs fans were saying on Twitter, Facebook and Reddit.
A fan on Facebook wrote: “It’s a win. It’s been pretty ho-hum for the last three or four weeks. Let’s go Chiefs!”
Another shared this: “Got the win, but it should never have been this close. Kicking issues continue as well as penalties.”
A Chiefs fan on Reddit shared this: “I know there is gonna be doom and gloom, but the turnovers made that game close. And you know damn well Denver has a great defense at causing turnovers, and divisional games are ALWAYS close. The record against them makes it look like we have dominated, but the games are always hard fought.”
Another wrote: “Get healthy Skyy and Joe!”
“I love my Chiefs and a win is a win,” a fan wrote on Facebook, “but I hope they learn how to play defense between this week and the playoffs.”
Here is what another wrote: “The chiefs continue to fail to put teams away because their offense is one dimensional and their defense is mediocre. Until the fans and more importantly the organization realizes this, they will continue to struggle to win games.”
“This is 4 of the last 5 games that the Chiefs have played poorly,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “They win despite the poor play, primarily because they’re playing bad teams. This doesn’t bode well for the playoffs.”
A fan on Facebook shared this: “Better fix everything or we getting an early knockout of playoffs”
“We play like that in a couple weekends we’re losing.. we need to stop playing down to other teams,” another wrote.
